BRYAN PEASE is co-founder of the Animal Protection and Rescue League (APRL), which is based in San Diego and has a very active chapter here in Orange County.
Bryan has been vegan since 1994 and studied Vegetarian Nutrition under T. Colin Campbell at Cornell University, where he obtained his undergraduate degree in 2000. Since moving to San Diego and becoming a lawyer in 2004, Bryan has fought for animal rights, the environment, and free speech for activists.
Earlier this month, Bryan won a federal court order preventing religious sacrifice of animals right here in Orange County. Bryan has also won court orders that prevented the destruction of a harbor seal rookery in San Diego, has won free speech cases for activists around the country, and has worked on dozens of successful legislative campaigns for animal protection.
Bryan will give a brief overview of the background of APRL and its activities in Southern California.
