Shannon is an attorney who put her energy and passion into protecting and defending animals. She practiced animal rights law for more than 12 years before launching ARME and BFP. She served as legal counsel for many high profile cases, creating case law favoring emotional distress recognition for animals.
As a filmmaker, Shannon served as producer of the multiple award-winning documentaries, “Behind the Mask” and “Skin Trade.” For her latest project, “Sanctuary” (2016), Shannon took the helm as director of this powerful documentary.
Shannon has been instrumental in changing countless lives as she lends her voice to represent animals entrapped, suffering and dying in animal testing laboratories around the country. She raises awareness of the hidden exploitation of rabbits, rats, Beagles, chimpanzees, monkeys and more, used as test subjects for beauty & hair products, cosmetics, cosmeceuticals, pharmaceuticals and cleaning products. BFP has been successful in manifesting policy changes and the releases of several testing victims.
Shannon continues her passion for change by advocating for animals in every forum and by living a cruelty-free and vegan lifestyle. She shares her home and her life with several animals she’s rescued and adopted. Learn more at www.bfp.org.
