Suzanne “Butterfly” Strachan has been teaching yoga and practicing massage for more than 30 years. She describes her style of yoga as “mostly a blend of Hatha and Hatha Flow with a little Vinyasa.” She focuses her massage technique in the ancient Japanese Shiatsu acupressure style and also includes elements of Craniosacral Therapy in her sessions.
Sometimes Butterfly incorporates Shiatsu self-massage techniques, along with breath and sound, in her yoga classes to move energy and release held tension patterns. Grounding and alignment with movement inspired by breath are at the heart of her personal practice and teaching style. In addition to her love for yoga, Butterfly has found that Qigong (Chi Gong) offers a peaceful way to harness one’s energy and establish clear intention. She will be sharing this gentle practice during her session in the Peace & Quiet Zone at SoCal VegFest 2016. Butterfly has been vegan for the animals, the planet and personal well-being since 1985.
