Kat Wong graduated from Westmont College, Santa Barbara with her B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy. She then earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Campbell University, North Carolina. Kat started her career working at one of Inova’s outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinics in Fairfax, Virginia. There she treated a diverse patient population including high level and professional athletes, post-surgical, pediatric, general orthopedic, post-stroke, and pelvic health. She is passionate about human movement and its capacity for efficiency and optimal function. Her treatment philosophy involves a holistic approach encompassing lifestyle, mind body awareness, and nutrition to create an environment for the body to heal. She strives to work with her patients in a collaborative manner to help them meet their movement goals.
In August 2022, Kat passed her Certification in Functional Manual Therapy (CFMT) through the Institute of Physical Art (IPA) with Honors (>90% cumulative average) and is currently training in the Functional Manual Therapy Fellowship Program offered through IPA Physio Orange County. She also specializes in pelvic health rehabilitation and has taken numerous coursework through the Herman & Wallace Institute. She combines her pelvic health knowledge with the Functional Manual Therapy approach to assess and treat her patients head to toe to address the driver of pelvic floor dysfunction.
